Criminal Defense

Old Police CarDrinking and driving is a serious offense. If you are going to consume alcohol, even one drink, don’t drive. This is your best defense.

From the moment that your motor vehicle is stopped by the police, you are entering an adversarial situation. That is: You, versus the government. The law enforcement officer stopping you is at an advantage. They have, at a minimum, weeks of training and probably years of on-the-job experience. If they suspect you of driving under the influence (DUI) of drugs or alcohol, they will use that road-side car stop to gather evidence to use against you.

Even the most educated of citizens do not know and or understand their rights in this situation; or if they do their rights, they are too nervous to use them.

If you do find yourself in the unfortunate position of having made one bad decision, don’t make another. During that road-side stop, you did not have an attorney present. It may have ended-up costing you. Going forward however, there are several more decisions for you to make and for those, proceeding without the RIGHT attorney could end up costing you a lot more.

The DUI process is becoming increasingly more intricate with the additional procedures involving license suspensions and mandatory minimum sentences if you are found guilty. There may also be strict time deadlines involved with your DUI case that are easy to overlook and which you may not understand the importance of.

If you are facing serious charges, like a DUI, you need experienced and competent counsel. Call Attorney Toly Siamos to discuss your case so that we can help you make the right decisions going forward.
